My interest in cycling started as a kid when my dad used to race, I can always remember watching some grass track racing and bikes with side cars! My dad never did get one of those! I took up cycling to get fit and loose weight......still trying, but I absolutely love cycling. I have given most things a go, triathlons, time trials, cyclocross, mountain biking and clubs runs. I spend most of my time trying not to be last but I think it is so go for you to get out there and give things a go and there is a great social aspect to the club too. Godric CC is a warm and welcoming club that encourages all ages, genders and abilities. I help support the club by assisting with running the time trial events and I am also the Welfare Officer and Social Secretary for the club. Please do contact me if you have any questions about the club.

My father was a keen cyclist as are my two sons, so cycling is definitely in the family blood. I enjoy club runs, TTs and long-distance riding. My high points include riding across most of the USA, round Iceland, LeJog, and a ride to Berlin. I joined Godric CC when we moved to Reydon and have had a great time with the club, which I find very friendly and helpful. I have been Club Treasurer since 2019.

I've been cycling since the early 1980's, been a member of The Glendene CC, Tiptree Velo and now Godric CC. Used to Time Trial and race but now just like to ride my bike, drink coffee and eat cake!! Notable things, London-Paris in 2014. Done the Club Des Cingles du Mont-Ventoux in 2014 consisting of 3 ascents of Ventoux in one day from Bedoin, Malaucene and Sault, tough ride, won't attempt that again. Have Track accreditation for London and Derby Velodromes and have ridden Manchester, London, Welwyn, Derby and Calshot, again, this is something I would recommend you have a go at! Rode for GB in the Age Related Worlds Road Race in Albi, France in 2017, although I never came anywhere, certainly a highlight of my career. Rode the Paris-Roubaix Challenge in 2019, 172km including 54km of cobbled sections - has been on my bucket list, its tough, not again!! Have taken a few groups over to France to ride the mountains and watch the Tour. Love all things cycling, can repair most things on a bike (can't do wheels, its an art I admire), watch it on TV as much as I can (fortunately I have a wife who will watch, record and watch it again with me) and will help anyone who needs it!! Stay Safe, Mark.

I started cycling with the East Anglian CC just over 40 years ago riding Sunday Club Rides, several editions of the Godric Cyclathon, London to Brighton and several others. I then took up riding Time Trials from 10 to 100 miles. I have organised Time Trials from 10 miles to 12hours, Road Races, been a BC Commisare of Road Races. I served on the Committee of the East District Cycling Association and have marshalled at a considerable number of time trials. I have ridden many Sportives and Audax events up to 300 kms. I have also ridden many Sportives/Randonees in France 18 at the last count and over the years have probably ridden more distances in France, Belgium and Majorica than in England. I loined the Godric CC in 2014 and was the Chairman for 5 years and took over the running of the club Time Trials in 2017 after the passing of Dave Hatcher who had done this work previously.

I only took up cycling when I moved to Beccles in 2013 from Essex. Starting with an old hybrid my son gave me I gradually moved to carbon. I’m very much a leisure rider and my only cycling achievement was Ride London 2019
