The Sunday Ride group meets at the Bungay Buttercross every Sunday at 9.30 a.m. when the clocks change to GMT in October, and at 9.00 a.m. when they change back to BST in March
Ideally we ride as two groups at differing speeds to suit the preference and ability of the riders. The routes are planned so that all groups should meet at a cafe stop at about the half-way point. This is usually at about 11.00 a.m.
The average speed is 13-14mph for the standard group and 16-17mph for the fast group. Depending on conditions and numbers present groups may be amalgamated, but we always ensure that all are able to ride at a pace that suits them. Nobody is left behind, and it is easy to swap between groups at the cafe stop if necessary.
Routes are usually in the 40 to 50 mile range, and are usually published in advance in the events section of this site, through the club’s Strava group and on the club’s facebook page. If a ride has to be called-off, perhaps through dangerous road conditions, then notice is given through the same channels.
We have a Wednesday club ride meeting at the Buttercross at 09:30. Typically we cover 30 miles at around 13-15 MPH but we make sure the speed is set so no one is struggling
Sunday Club runs normally start at 9:00am during British Summer Time (last Sunday in March to second-last Sunday in October) and 9:30 AM during Greenwich Mean Time (Last Sunday in October to second-last Sunday in March).
Wednesday Club runs start at 09:30.
We offer a range of rides for our members during the year:
